Serve with a fresh crusty baguette or warm pitas for dunking.
1 block (8 oz/250 g) light cream cheese, at room temperature
1⁄2 lb (225 g) lean ground beef
1⁄2 pkg Speedy Lasagna Seasoning
1 can (14 oz/398 ml) crushed tomatoes
1 cup shredded mozzarella
Toppings (optional): chopped fresh basil or Italian parsley
- In a bowl, stir together cream cheese and Rosemary Garlic Seasoning. Set aside.
- In Multipurpose Steamer, combine ground beef and Speedy Lasagna Seasoning. Cover; microwave on high at 1 min intervals, using the Ground Meat Separator to break apart large chunks, until cooked through, 2 min.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and cream cheese mixture. Cover; microwave on high at 1 min intervals, stirring well in between, until cheese melts and dip is hot, 2 - 3 min.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella; microwave, uncovered, for 1 min or until cheese melts.
For an upscale presentation, prepare dip without mozzarella topping. Turn into an oven-safe serving dish, then top with mozzarella. Place on a Sheet Pan. Broil until cheese melts and starts to brown.
